  • Why did Chevrolet quit making this van in AWD?!

    I really like my All-Wheel Drive 2007 Chevy Express passenger van. It's been very handy when moving my kids around the country, take vacations, or towing. It's been very dependable, although after 12 years it's starting to show rust in the body and I've had one of the side doors replaced and painted after rust penetrated the exterior sheet metal. Headlight buckets and parking brake cable replaced due to rust/corrosion. This full sized AWD van is absolutely excellent in snow and blizzard conditions. I've had it in the rocky mountains going up/down mountain passes in terrible weather and it performs excellent. It's really a shame that Chevrolet quit making the Express in AWD after the 2014 model year. It gets around 15-16 mpg on the highway with the 5.3L V8 flex-fuel engine. (I would buy another one if I could)

    I have owned over 20 of these vehicles and would recommend it over any other full size van. Great durability and power. Not the best for large people (I am 6 foot 4 inches tall) but the best I have found of the full size vans. The worst features are the outside mirrors and the cargo doors, be ready to replace the plastic clips that hold the latch actuator rods. Overall, everyone of these vans I have owned has passed 250,000 miles. Of all the vans I have owned, I have only replaced two batteries, one water pump, 1 transmission and multiple door clips.
